Annual Exhibition 2007

The Exhibition was judged by Barry Mead FRPS

Another successful exhibition was enjoyed on Saturday 24 November, 2007. A large number of visitors attended our exhibition and appeared to be impressed with our work and the way that we have chosen to display it on an annual basis. Most clubs do not have the facilities that we enjoy and to be able to link in with the Christmas Fayre at the church is an added bonus as it is an attraction to the public. We were also lucky enough to be able to use the new sound system within the church and this made our slide and audio visual show much more professional.

Barry Mead, FRPS was our judge and he spoke in depth about each of the successful prints and slides, which was appreciated. Barry was presented with a £20 WHSmiths voucher and Ann, his wife was presented with a bouquet of flowers.

This year we ran a Schools Competition for two age groups at three of the local schools. Although we didn't have the response that we had hoped for we feel that it has been a good exercise in bringing HPS closer to the local community. We offered a family trip to Bristol Zoo and this was won by Jessica Ford, aged 8, from Longwell Green School.

As usual the day ended with a buffet which was organised by Brenda and Larry Whetton. The tables were full of all sorts of delights and everyone really enjoyed the evening.
